Swim Team 5-16-08

I did not enjoy swim team one bit.

See, my mom signed me up for this summer "swim team" class, which I didn't know about, and she wakes me up at 6:45 in the morning telling me I need to get ready, and I have no idea why--then she tells me I have swim team on Monday and Wednesday, along with meets on Thursday.

Now, I'm an okay swimmer, but I A: haven't practiced in a long time and B: don't do well with long-distance things--I don't have that stamina.

So, as if it's not bad enough when I get there at nine, but my classmate Lane was there and kept teasing me because I wasn't swimming well. Then the lifeguard made me move to the shorter distance group, which swims the same amount, just in smaller intervals, which is better, but I felt embarrassed by it...

The practice ended at ten.

Well, I went home and got on CPP, and I spent a long time mucking out locked topics. There are a whole lot of new additions to the Archive. Razz

We're all still working on cleaning it out.

Then Jmg called and I came over. Remember Bill, the dog who was going to be put to sleep? Well, he didn't. Smile

Apparently, Jmg misheard his parents when they said they were going to put him to sleep Saturday; the dog had passed out after having a bath for four hours, but he was fantastic and almost jumpy. His mom and dad kept saying that it was like he was back from the dead.

I had some awesome barbecue thing with Jmg at a restaurant; I forget the name. We watched Cloverfield, which was actually not half-bad; I thought the plot was rather interesting, actually, even if it was some Godzilla spin-off. I didn't get to see the end; Jmg said something about them just nuking the whole place. That's a dumb ending. Mmm

Then I went home and kind of just hung out, watched some game shows, hopped on and off CPP...

Yeah, it was a nice day, I guess. I'm just not looking forward to the next swim team.

Ooh, kinda Harsh. I used to do swimming. I'm 10 and I have more stamina. I can hold two times my own weight.

I heard the monsters were actually big spider things. How stupid.

Eww... swim team.. I like going to the pool when I want, not being forced to practice for a dumb team competeing in swimming-from-one-side-of-a-pool-to-the-other races

Eh, probably around five minutes before I start to get tired and out of breath. It's the same with running, too.

Hold my breath? Last time I timed myself, it was probably around 30 seconds, but I wound up gasping for breath for around six minutes. Very Happy
