PostSubject: Possibly leaving.   Tue Jul 15, 2008 11:24 pm

Yes, you read it right, I might be leaving in these next few days.

I will not tell you all of the reasons and/or go in depth of why I don't like "X topic" but I will explain in a small, secretive way why I might leave. I would just like to note that begging me doesn't help and the minute I get an e-mail from someone on this board asking me not to leave/come back I will either quit or come tell this board not to e-mail me agian. Ever.

I might be leaving due to the status of Clubpenguin Planet these days and since I have my own very popular forum (3,000 posts in two weeks with no ads and 12 users, PM me for the link). I believe many of the things happening on this forum are not very fun, are very dumb and lots of the users here are becoming slaves to their post counts. This forum is also making bad administrative desicions and poor choices with how they deal with certain subjects.

My first topic is how "fun" this forum has become. Not very fun. I feel as if the users are more interested if you can make fun of someone than to have a real laugh (Lolcats, Euphanasia, EPIC FAIL, etc). This board is no longer funny yet I see many attempts at internet humor which do not work at all. I am trying to bring Euphanasia to the internet but it doesn't seem to be catching on... once you see a finished product it will, though.

I also think lots of things on this forum are becoming dumb, and I don't mean stupidity like "lol I eated my cat and the grocerpeez from teh bag." I have seen so many people trying to make a point on this forum that have utterly failed and quite honestly lots of users think that if it's not their opinion it's not right. Many people try to start arguements over basically nothing at all and have no facts to support either side-- if they do have facts it's clearly not pointless. I have seen numerous times where users I shall not name will start fighting with another user because there is a pixel out of place in their image and the other user just HAD to say "hey, I'm not going to take your help and flame you" which elevated it into a massive war between two 11 year old kids.

My third point is the users + post count. One thing I've noticed is that if a user does not have a large post count under their belt they start being ignored until they get at least 1,500 posts (more or less). Seriously, I don't like this. My posts were completely overlooked and people saw me as just some little kid when I had about 100-1,000 posts but now that I have over 2,000 posts it was completely changed. Users race their posts in Posting Games and almost literally spam to get their post count higher. Numerous times I have seen posts that are not contributing to a thread that were made for one purpose: post count. Posts like "sorry, I can't help you" are classified as that and lots of users do it. If they can't contribute, don't post it.

Which brings us up to our next point of administrive desicions, how admins and mods deal with subjects and poor moderation. I think letting in Guin was a bad idea- shoot me. I said it, it's out there now! I also believe that him quitting for the exact same reason as last time just shows I cannot trust him, even though I didn't really from the start. He hacked onto the forums admin panel, guys, and wrecked the forum into destruction on Easter Sunday. But hey, let's give this guy another chance even though he INVITED ME TO HACK WITH HIM and created a hackers forum that was planning the death of CPP again. I also don't like how admins and moderators argue insisting their opinion is right or just plain out argue with the users! Topics like 'Unfair Infractions' shouldn't have large arguements but the staff allowed and even participated in an arguement there with other users. I have seen numerous times where staff have argued with users and been plain out mean. Is this the quality of posting that the staff insist we have? No? Well ok then, they shouldn't either. There is also a lack of moderation- report, review, delete. The main process of a users report. The user reports it an admin reviews it and it gets deleted. But I have not seen many bad spammy posts that have been deleted. There are also posts that are just stupid like "sorry bud I can't help you ask someone else" that aren't deleted either. What's up with that?

So I close this with the subject of "Possibly Leaving." Post your thoughts and emoticons please and READ EVERYTHING I TYPED, not just a few words.

Agreed on every word, Why this forum is completely changing.

I also agree on the "Sorry bud cant help you ask someone else" there is no point on saying that if you actually cant help the guy.

I agree mostly, the fun times are over, what with both of the fun admins gone and users qutting every time you look back.
However the younger users will probably stay, as most other forums have 99- users nad Miniclip has age restrictions.

This is probably the most intelligent post I have ever seen on any forum. I have been feeling that way for a long time. I'm not gonna leave but I'm just getting so sick of this post count race. Users actually spam in the statistics thread bragging about their post count. That's not normal. You should just enjoy being on the forum and post in topics that actually have a meaning instead of just staring at your screen typing numbers.

I hate it when people are overlooked by their post count. New members don't get any chance to get all 5 badges. And if you don't post in the posting games all the time, people just don't pay attention to you. Hellopayton, you are a perfect example of that. I remember when you first joined not many people liked you. They didn't really pay attention to you and pick you for any awards or anything. When your post count got above 1,000, somehow you instantly got popular and everybody was talking about you. The same thing goes with everyone else. I don't think in the past month somebody has gotten a badge who had under 500 posts. Maybe Flubby but I'm not totally sure. And when Egaro did his CPP awards the only people who got awards were people with high posts counts. Posting isn't a game. It's just stupid for people to fight about who is gonna get more posts and other stuff like that.

I see what you mean by what you said about the moderation. I feel that I have been slacking lately and I need to get it together. It would also help if moderators had more permissions. There are certain forums where we can't delete posts and it gets really annoying.

I also see what you mean by the bad humor. Sometimes it gets painfully annoying when you try to be serious and everybody just says these stupid phrases trying to be funny. I understand what you mean about that but there is no changing a users personality.

About Guin. I have known Guin ever since he started CP forums. Me and him started a forum in April 07 and I knew that he couldn't be trusted. The forum became a little bit more inactive than normal and he just started cursing at everybody in the forum and then a day later he deleted the whole entire forum. Then he expected ME to apolagize to him for nothing. He tried to apolagize to me later on by I just couldn't after what he did. He deleted my favorite forum. Then he left made his CP Lighthouse and then this forum. Then he seemed to be matured and I joined here. I thought he was improved but I guess not when I found out he was cursing at some user for accusing him of stealing graphics. And after all of that he decided to HACK CPP. After all the terrible things that he did in the past, he decided to do that. I was so mad when they let him be admin again. I just wasn't showing that anger. I'm surprised he didn't go on some huge rage when he left this time. I was worried that he would delete the forum since he has administration powers.

To wrap things up, I completely understand why you are leaving HelloPayton. You gave us a perfect explanation and I respect that. I wish you the best of luck with your forum.

Bye.

Well, that's odd, because Guin (Waddlguin) just made something called iPengTube. One of my blog readers told Guin that he was copying PengTube which he KNEW about and he came back to my blog with something like this:
"What? I didn't copy you. Mine is with an 'i.' And I thought we were friends."
