-You're going to hate this, but I really suggest reading over each post you make before you post it. Add in things, fix up your grammar, and make your post generally more helpful.

Am I exempt from that on account of lazyness?

Quote:

-Let's say that you're posting in the Official UOTW Thread. You've already congratulated the current UOTW, but you come back and congratulate again. That's spam, guys; unless it's an accident, you will get an infraction for that from this point on. No more "Congrats again!" stuff, unless you're replying to another post and you feel obligated to say something on-topic.

Thank you. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten away with spam and nobody has corrected me. I would turn myself in but I'm to afraid that when I get out of jail, I'll come hunt me down :p

Quote:

-Posting games are constantly abused. Users go through and post like machines to raise their post count. They're for fun, and are good in doses, but having the main level of your activity come from posting games is no good. Try to get in some other stuff--you'd be surprised at how much more the forum has to offer.

I can only say one fitting word to that...

*Cough*Chao*cough*

The other reason people do this is because you get a "reward". Rank, top badge, and new room. Top Poster should be top quality poster or something... I feel this is a good idea - all though some ideas are a bit too strict. An infraction might be too much...

Top poster should not be a badge. It's just encourages people to spam.

If the count to threads were DELETED I'm sure many of you guy's post counts would drop dramatically.

Who was it that said an infraction was too much?

It really isn't; it's spam. Before now, we haven't really done anything on that issue. Yes, it is spam, and spam is against the rules, unless you were contributing something else to the topic.

Stupid pointless annoying message...spam...Congrats Again is stupid, pointless, annoying, and of course it's a message.

I agree 100%. I remember Chao before he had 1,000 posts. Nobody liked him, and he was basically shunned as a "minor, inactive user" by everyone. Then, all of a sudden, BAM! He had 1,000 posts and he was the hippest thing in hip. (No offense, Chao.)
This goes for HP, Egaro, and a few others. (No offense to you guys.)

Yeah, Neo explained it well.

Now everyone goes back and says most of my posts are spam and obviously thats a load. Rolling Eyes

Oh wow, only blame me.It's not like Dark got 4000 posts off it in 2 days.
I bet you didn't think about that. One of your own admins made over 4000 posts from those stupid threads, and I watched and watched, until I finally joined in.He doubled what I did though, so stop blaming me. Line

Wow.
This article basically summed up why I dont really like forums. No offence but especially this one because Ive never seen posting games more abused in a way then this forum. Hopefully this tones it down and this forum isnt about typing and click "send" and watch your ranks fly by.

Yes, I know that. It felt like no one cared about me when I had very few posts, so I got active, and all of a sudden, people paid attention even though the majority of my posts were spam.
