Death Penalty

Well, I'm sure you're all familiar with the death penalty, and I'm sure you all have heard about at least one person who was sentenced to death.

In one hand, the death penalty helps "clean up" prisons so that they won't overflow with people, but don't you think it's a little hypocritical that they give murders the death penalty? Sure, it demonstrates to society the potential punishment that could arise from committing any crime, and may make people think twice about committing crimes, but does not teach any moral lessons to the one(s) who received the death sentence

Now, do you think it is fair, or morally correct, to purposefully put someone to death? Are you indifferent about the subject? Is it inhumane and cruel? What are your thoughts on this topic?

Well if it was common in western nations I would support it as the trial is open and fair. But countries like China (often) give short notice executions, biased trials and fake evidence as reasoning. So I am for the DP in non-communist countries, but not in the middle east etc.

I think it's okay, as long as they go to Confession first so that they may have a chance to go to Heaven.
In retrospect, it's prob better than rotting away in Jail or a padded room.

I think the Death Penalty is crazy. I feel bad for those people. JK I want them in prison for life.

I think that they are disgusting!
Remember - last week - China sentenced a disabled guy to death...
For smuggling drugs.

For goodness sake, he probably didn't know what he was flaming doing! People were probably being nasty to him and tempting him to smuggle drugs..

Third point - He was born in England. Not China. England.

I thikt hat they should suffer instead of die cause if they do die its useually short and non painful whihc is stupid they dont suffer at all that way i can understand if they made like for example 10 murders and so on or even just like 6 but seriously they should suffer in prison for a long time nd suffer badley as a consiquence

Murderers should be put in jail, not sentenced to death. If they are sentenced to death, that is murdering THEM.

Do you guys get me now?

Okay very good piont, i had a bad example lolz.... maybe in something like breaking out of jail non stop every time on first or second day? hmmm still bad lolz....
But also i say most murderers know ur NOT going to kill them of course so they are surprised and regret maybe? i rekon people woh murder more then 7 should be setenced just my opinion though

True, but shouldn't that mean life in prison is the most extreme punishment? How come third-timers and murderers get the "easy way out" then?
