My dad passed away last year and he always use to tell me this verse.

Phillipians 2:3
"Do nothing of selfish ambition or vein coneit, but in humility consider others better than yourself."

The day he died, he told me this, i had no idea why, he just randomly told me, i guess he knew his time had come. But he told me this. I will never forget.

Deuteronomy 31:6
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afriad or terrified because of them, for the lord your god goes with you, he will never leave nor foresake you."

That evening on March 17, 2007, i sat in the living room with my two younger sisters, and my younger brother. My mom was in the kitchen. We got a call from the local hospital saying my dad was in critical condition from a car accident suffered by an oncoming red-light runner. We all gathered into his room and prayed together. I took my moms and my sisters hand and said the verse he had told me earlier. We stayed over night in the hospital, and i slept out in the lobby, i had a dream that he came to me in the hospital, and told me he was going, and he said the verse. I didn't know i was dreaming then or anything what was happening. He went up a flight of stairs and i never saw him after, my mom woke me up at about 3:30 A.M. and took me to his room. I then learned my father had died, but i learned more that day than anything. My faith in Jesus and God was strengthened that day. I knew i would never see my father again, but his thoughts and words still wonder through my mind today. I will never forget him, but i know he is in me, he is apart of me, as is Jesus. I knew that day that Jesus was with me in that room, looking on with my family. He would protect my father, and keep his soul with him. My father was the most important person in my life, and his death impacted me but i knew in my heart that it was God's plan. I miss my father, a lot of things would've happened differently if he were still here. I know that his spirit lives on, and after my short time on this earth, i will see him again, and be with him. My at-the-time- 10 year old brother was balling in tears. My at-the-time 12 year old sister, was in tears too. I remember being in the hospital room, just holding them and comforting them, telling them it wasn't goodbye. Which was true. After that day, my life changed. I was the father figure in their lifes. I truly believe this is a test from God and a challenge to my faith in him, i love God and Jesus tremendously, and i lay strong faith in them. I may have failed at times with the father figure action, but i know that when i put my faith in god, he will make all paths straight.
